AFoxNewspollpublishedlastmonthfoundthat69percentofAmericansbelievetariffswillmakeproductsmoreexpensive,whilejust7percentsaytariffswillreduceprices.Thesamepollfoundthat53percentofAmericansbelievetariffswillharmtheeconomy,whilejust28percentsaytheywillimproveit. ConfrontedwiththosefiguresduringaninterviewonSunday,WhiteHouseeconomicadviserPeterNavarrobrushedoffanyworriesandarguedthatbusinesseswillhaveto“cuttheirpricestoabsorb”thecostsoftariffs.
