Thenewresolutiondesignatesthedayasanopportunityfor“AmericanstoreflectonKirk’scontributionstopublicdebateandcivicengagement.”
TheresolutionalsorecognizesKirkforhiscontributionstociviceducationandpublicserviceandencourageseducationalinstitutions,civicorganizations,andcitizensacrosstheUnitedStatestoobservethisdaywithappropriateprograms,activities,prayers,andceremoniesthatpromotecivicengagementandtheprinciplesoffaith,liberty,anddemocracythatCharlieKirkchampioned.
Sen.RickScott,R-Fla.,firstannouncedthedesignationoftheresolutionSept.16andsaidKirkwasa“magneticleader,alovingfatherandhusband,andafriendandinspirationtosomany.”
