Paul announced the whistleblower’s testimony in multiple social media posts and a press release issued on Monday.
“Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Rand Paul (R-KY) will convene a full committee hearing to receive testimony from a whistleblower who will expose the coverup over the origins of COVID-19 and the lack of transparency from government agencies,” read the release.
The whistleblower’s identity was not revealed ahead of the hearing. However, he is supposedly a CIA veteran with over 20 years of service who worked in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the New York Post reported. He allegedly was on a detail for a “director’s initiative group” which analyzed and assessed the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic; he is expected to claim the CIA restricted available information to the public about the virus, according to reports.
Moreover, such perpetrators are still at the intelligence agency, according to Paul’s whistleblower.
“He believes that there are people still within the CIA that were trying to obscure the truth, trying to withhold documents, and he will also testify that the CIA actually were spying on his group and eavesdropping on his group,” Paul said in an interview with the New York Post.
Regarding the contents and truthfulness of the testimony on Wednesday, Paul said the whistleblower had “an impeccable record and reputation.”
“It’s hard to testify publicly from the intelligence community because they don’t take it very well,” said Paul. “So he comes forward at great risk to his career.”
The senator also told the Post that the whistleblower will accuse CIA leadership of suppressing information about COVID origins and that leadership changed the collected information discovered in the research document created by other CIA officials.
“I think it was six to one that the virus, they believed, came from the lab,” said the senator. “Their conclusion was then overridden by mid-level or senior people. “At two in the morning, the conclusions of the document were changed.”
Paul has maintained that government disclosures about the COVID-19 pandemic were untruthful. He’s also been a regular critic of Dr. Anthony Fauci, accusing the former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director and chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden of perjury. He spent days over the last pleading with the Justice Department to charge Fauci “for lying under oath,” before the statute of limitations expired.
“TODAY is the day,” Paul said on Monday. “The DOJ must charge Fauci for lying under oath or lose the chance forever. This man oversaw gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab, lied to Congress about it repeatedly, and watched as you were called crazy for asking questions. The statute of limitations expires tomorrow. The American people have waited long enough for accountability.”

Additionally, Paul accused Fauci of misleading and defrauding the nation in a social media post on Monday. He emphasized that even though the statute of limitations may expire, he would never stop “uncovering the truth.”
“The DOJ may never act, but the American people know the truth: Fauci misled and defrauded this country,” Paul said in a post on X. “I won’t stop uncovering the truth around the great COVID cover-up. That’s why I will have a whistleblower testify before my committee this Wednesday.”
