Last month, under my leadership as Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, we successfully advanced critical funding for border security and other law enforcement agents of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) out of my committee.
Despite Senate Democrats blocking all funding for the Customs Border Patrol (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agencies in the regular budget process, I made sure President Trump’s bold agenda for border security moved forward and promised to get it to the finish line in the Senate.
